The Bahá’í Faith – an introduction

Bahá'ís believe that there is only one God and that, through His covenant, He has promised never to leave man without guidance. This guidance has come in the form of prophets over the ages (ie physical manifestations of God) and has included Krishna, Zoroaster, Buddha, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, Mohammad, the Bab, and for today, Bahá'u'lláh. God has promised that this ‘progressive revelation’ of His teachings will never end, and Bahá'ís do not see a conflict with other faiths since they all stemmed from the same source at different periods of man’s evolution. Each prophet has acknowledged those who came before them and foretold the coming of others, in particular one that will ‘guide man into all knowledge’. Bahá'ís believe that Bahá'u'lláh is that person, the one spoken of and waited for by mankind for ages. He is ‘The Promised One’.

Bahá'u'lláh’s teachings speak to the oneness of man, saying that ‘Ye are the fruits of one tree, and the leaves of one branch.’ and Bahá'ís work to enact this message of unity all over the globe through a lifetime of service to humanity.

Teaching and community building is a way of life - typical elements of this include childrens’ classes, devotions, study circles, youth programs, and much more. As happens in all revealed faiths, hearts become bound by the teachings and life takes on a much greater purpose.
